Di (sans Scottie), Judy (sans Bert who would rather be cycling than hanging out with us), Betty-Ann and Darrel, Eldon, Wayne, Jackie and Fred (sans Dover) made the journey to these trails located Southwest of Portage La Prairie. The ski was postponed by a day thanks to Mother Nature. She more than made up for it with the great skiing weather we were subjected to, -7 and sunny by the afternoon! The classic trails had been track set Saturday and were a real hoot to ski on. We managed to ski the majority of them and everyone rather enjoyed the exciting downhill sections. Lunch was had at the Nordic Center chalet where there’s an ample supply of cooooooookies and complimentary coffee from 2-4 PM on weekends. The McMasters were our gracious hosts today and they and the local ski club make this a destination spot. In summary, the adventure was… Bittersweet!
